Dan "Jack-Dan" Young

Job Title:
3D Animator, also Hopeless Dreamer

What do I do?
I am a lighting rod. I make creatures. I talk. I listen. I burn stuff in the microwave. I animate surgical procedures. I try to make ghOst Productions and the world a better place.

What's the coolest thing about Ghost?
It’s a community of creative, passionate, people with minds flexible enough to understand some of what I am saying; a vibrant medley of provocative personas. They love me, and I them.

What do I do when I'm not working?
I work on my passion, becoming a real artist. I paint, draw, build, sculpt, and write stories. I also create sets for children’s plays. My future plans involve: publishing books, doing art shows, making videogames, and making movies (send a lot of money so I can get the ball rolling faster). I would like to go into politics and eventually become some sort of messiah that reshapes all of humanity into a force capable of spreading the seed of life throughout the universe.

My story:
Version 1:
I’m a left-handed vegetarian artist with intergraded multiple personality disorder. There was a bee’s nest in a crack in the front steps of my house. Every time I would go in or out of my house the vibrations would agitate the bees. Once, I was stung in the eye and it swelled up into a massive purple mess. I went to this place in California for almost a year and, while there, I never saw the sky. There were taped lines on the ground that I was not allowed to cross. When I was ten, I was placed in a foster home and raised by some strict Catholics. When I was in high school, I had very long hair and wore bathrobes so everyone called me Jesus. Once, I went to jail because my friend urinated out of a moving car onto a truck as we were driving down the freeway. I went to college in Phoenix. While there, I discovered that I was a nudist and wound up living in a drug dealer’s closet. Now I am boring; a shell of my former self. Art is my salvation.

Version 2:
Life is good. I am having a good time. I am happy. If you want to be happy, let's be friends. I have been blessed my whole life with people that care about me. I am grateful for all the marvelous wonders of life. This one time I was having a stupendous time and then it got even better. I thought to myself, “This is so cool. It can’t possibly get any better,” but I was wrong–and it got better. I was overwhelmed with the beauty of life and it was almost too much to take. I thought, “Why have I been given so much? This is so much goodness that my stomach aches from constantly laughing about the sheer joy that I am experiencing”. Life is unrelentingly and astonishingly perfect. I love art.
