DePuy Synthes has partnered with Ghost Productions medical animation studio to create a visually stunning marketing piece for their Sentio System. This medical device is designed to assist surgeons in locating and mapping motor nerves during surgical procedures. By using mechanomyographic (MMG) signals and electrical stimulus of nerves, Sentio provides real-time information to the surgeon to help assess a patient's neurophysiologic status. The device features accelerometer-based sensors, eliminating the risk of needle stick injury, and provides a direct relationship between stimulation current and distance to the nerve. With a high degree of sensitivity and specificity, Sentio confirms nerve location and improves procedural efficiency while reducing overall cost of care.
